About Elizabeth Crosby

I grew up in Atlanta and attended the University of Virginia, where I earned a BA in English with a minor in history, as well as an MA in English. After three years teaching English and dorm parenting at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, I moved to Memphis and began teaching at Memphis University School, my academic home for the past 24 years. I am the Chair of the English Department, as well as Co-Director of the MUS in Europe program for which I’ve developed academic course work connected to travel in Europe for seven different groups of students. Part of that teaching has been on the Way of St. James, preparing my students for the experience.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and visiting my two grown children. I’m active at Calvary Episcopal Church and engaged in the Lynching Sites Project of Memphis. My local Camino friends and I are currently working to establish a Memphis chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino, a non-profit organization and pilgrim community that will welcome your group.
